This stylish duplex apartment is in the wonderful Marais neighborhood around the corner from Places des Vosges, one of the most beautiful squares in Paris. With its narrow streets and historical buildings and packed with fashionable boutiques, great restaurants, galleries, excellent museums and 18th century mansions open to the public the Marais is one of the most desirable neighborhoods in Paris. This apartment is on the first floor (one flight of stairs up from the ground floor) of an 18th century mansion and overlooks a quiet cobblestone courtyard. With one bedroom and 70 square meters (about 770 square feet) of space spread over two floors this apartment can comfortably accommodate up to 5 people.

LIVING ROOM AND DINING ROOM

Upon entering the apartment, there is a large space that incorporates the living room, the dining area, and an open kitchen. Half of the space opens to a double height original beam ceiling with an architectural steel spiral staircase leading up to a mezzanine and the second floor. The space is partially sectioned off delineating the dining and living areas. Tiled floors and white walls give the room a clear and airy feel. Two French windows overlook a charming cobblestone courtyard. There is an armchair with a lamp and a small table nestled in front of one of the windows making it the perfect place to sit and read. There is a steel and glass dining table which seats up to 6 people. In the living room, there is a writing desk, armchair, coffee table and a three-person leather couch which can be pulled out into a double bed. There is a small stereo and cable television with access to international stations including BBC World and CNN International

MEZZANINE

Accessed by a steel spiral staircase and overlooking the living and dining room the mezzanine features a built-in twin bed. Dark wood floors and a dark wood exposed beam ceiling contrasted with the stark white walls and architectural stairs give this space distinctive style. The twin bed is cleverly built-in alongside closet and storage space. There is a small area with a bedside table and chair.

BEDROOM

The bedroom is on the second floor adjoining the mezzanine. It has a large Queen size bed with quality linens, pillows and a duvet. There are two large windows overlooking the courtyard below that cast wonderful light into the room. Along one wall of the bedroom, there are built-in closets with plenty of shelving and hanging space. The bedroom has an en suite bathroom.

KITCHEN

The open kitchen is built along one wall beneath the mezzanine. With off-white cabinetry and spot lighting, the kitchen is bright and clean. Featuring all up to date appliances, the kitchen is equipped with sink, dishwasher, refrigerator, freezer, electric vitro-ceramic stove, electric multi-function oven, hood fan and a washing machine.

BATHROOM

This apartment conveniently has one half bathroom on the first level and one full en suite bathroom adjoining the second floor bedroom. The half bathroom is off of the downstairs living and dining area and has a sink and toilet. The full en suite bathroom is spacious and features tiles from Provence and an opaque glass cube window into the bedroom. It has a two sinks, a toilet, a bathtub with shower fixture and a heated towel rack.
