This magnificent apartment is on the first floor (one flight of stairs up from the ground floor) of a 16th century mansion in the heart of Le Marais between the Seine and the Place des Vosges. Le Marais, with its small streets and historical buildings, is quintessentially Parisian. Stylish shops, renowned restaurants, numerous museums and galleries make Le Marais one of the most sought-after neighborhoods in the city. It has 5-meter high ceilings with exposed beams, tall windows offering double exposure, and an original fireplace. These architectural features along with the tasteful antique furniture contribute to a sense of grandeur. With two bedrooms and 100 square meters of space this apartment can comfortably accommodate up to 6 people.
Upon entering the apartment, the space opens into a vast living room with parquet flooring, a soaring 5-meter high ceiling and an original fireplace. The room is flanked by several floor to ceiling windows with interior oak shutters allowing generous eastern and western light to flood the space. A staircase with wrought iron railings leads up to a mezzanine with a double bed that overlooks the living room. Under the mezzanine is an open kitchen. Decorated with antiques and accented with original oak features the grandiose living room evokes the aristocratic history of the building, once a private mansion for the Noble Sevigné family. In front of the fireplace, there is a seating area with a Persian rug, two oversized couches and a large coffee table. Both couches pull out into double beds to accommodate extra guests. There is a stereo with radio and CD player.
Like the living room, the master bedroom boasts 5 meter high ceilings and tall windows. The large Queen size bed is dressed in white linens with pillows and a duvet. There is a chair and an antique chest that is used as a desk. Along the wall opposite the bed are custom built oak closets with copious storage space. The television, with cable including international stations such as BBC World and CNN International, is discreetly hidden inside the closet. There is also a multi-zoned DVD player.
A large mezzanine looks over the living room with a built-in large Queen size bed and small seating area. The mezzanine is accessed by a narrow flight of stairs and features wrought iron railings and banisters.
The modern design kitchen is open to the living room and tucked under the mezzanine. It has been custom fitted with stainless steel elements and outfitted with top of the line appliances. There is a breakfast bar. The kitchen is fully equipped with a sink, dishwasher, refrigerator, freezer, electric induction stove, electric combination microwave and oven, hood fan and a combination washer and dryer.
There is one full bathroom leading off of the living room. The recently renovated bathroom has a sink, toilet and bathtub with shower.
