This charming Marais apartment has undergone a full renovation to enhance its historic beauty while integrating modern comforts. The apartment has beautiful original herringbone hardwood floors and large windows in every room. Architectural features include an original fireplace and crown moldings.

We have collaborated with a decorator to ensure that the furnishings would enhance the apartment's architectural elegance while retaining a strong focus on comfort.

The apartment is on the second floor (up one flight of stairs) in an 18th century building on the rue de Saintonge where it intersects with the rue de Turenne. The building has a lovely cobblestone courtyard with flowering bushes. The Marais neighborhood was recently rated one of Paris' safest. Your security is doubly ensured by the building concierge and a security code equipped building front door.

We have used our experience to create the perfect home away from home.
This apartment is quintessentially Parisian yet features all of the amenities that the cosmopolitan traveler demands.

Living Room

The living room has double exposure and a brand new open kitchen fully-equipped with fridge/freezer, ceramic stovetop, oven, dishwasher, microwave and separate clothes washer and dryer. There is also a dining table and a comfortable seating area with a large couch (that folds out into a Queen size bed with extra-thick mattress). There is a large flat screen TV equipped with cable television (with two channels in English), a multi-zone DVD player, a stereo system with sound-dock to plug in your Ipod, and wireless high-speed internet.

Master Bedroom

The master bedroom features an American King size (180) bed, two large windows and overhead lighting as well as lamps. There is a built in closet with hanging space. The en-suite bathroom has a toilet, washbasin and bathtub with a wall-mounted shower-head and glass shower screen. There is a courtyard-facing window in the bathroom.

Second Bedroom

The second bedroom has two twin beds (that can also be made up as a King), a fireplace, and a large window and also has a built-in closet.
The second bathroom is across the hall from the second bedroom and has a toilet, washbasin and shower cabin. There are two courtyard- facing windows in the shower-room.

The two bedrooms are located at opposite ends of the apartment-an ideal layout for couples traveling together as well as families.

  1. Bonjour:

We just returned from a wonderful week at this apartment. It’s very nicely located in the Marais, our favourite area and I would recommend it highly. We also discovered a terrific restaurant just around the corner, perhaps a three minute walk. It’s called Le Pamphlet and will not disappoint.

    All the best,

    Bill Murtagh

  2. Bonjour, We just arrived today from Paris and stayed at this apartment for 5 nights and it was wonderful. The area of the apartment borders the 11 arrondismont. I would have loved to be closer to the 4th, but it was still great. The apartment was really spacious and the picture does not justifed how comfortable it is. There is a patissarie right on Rue Sanitogne just steps away and it was great. The apartment was spotless and Axel was a delight to meet. Can’t wait to go back again! I would recommend to any of my friends.

  3. Late October 2012, two American couples from Connecticut and Maine shared this great apartment for a week to celebrate a 50th birthday. Our first, and not last visit to Paris. Lee was wonderful, she took care of our needs and was a wonderful source of information and arranged car service too. The apartment was great. It was better than staying in two separate small hotel rooms. The living diding area was the essential common area for us to come together. Morning coffee, afternoon wine, bread and cheese…light night laughs…. Bedrooms were separated by the common living/dining area – kitchen. Master bedroom with king bed has an full ensuite bathroom wiht tub/shower and toilet. Second bedroom with two twins has bathroom that was direcly across from bedroom, so it was essentially a private bathroom with shower and toilet. Second floor apartment was safe and had all that we needed. Simply decorated, beds were comfortable, linens crisp. Dining area has four chairs. Living area has one couch. Another comfy chair as a companion to the couch would be a great addition and allow 4 to sit in the living area. Neighbor was great. Nice little cafe righ across from the front door.

  9. We just returned from a wonderful stay in Paris in the Marias Bretagne apartment. This is our second time using Paris Deluxe Rentals, and once again, we had wonderful service. We previuosly stayed in the Relais two bedroom (pls see seprate review). This two bedroom apartment is in a simpler building and simpler decor, but quite comfortable. We were met by Sofi, who explained all the apartment details and helped with our luggage up the flight of stairs. Each bedroom has its own AC unit, which wroked well to keep the room comfortable. Not quite ice cold, but quite confortable. The seperate washer dryer and wifi were well appreciated. The apartment is full of light. The bedrooms face the street, so a bit of traffic noise, even though the apartment is on a quiet street. I would suggest changing the drapes to full blackouts, since the light from the street illuminated the bedrooms a bit. The area is full of great places to find gourmet, organic food. On Rue de Bretagne was a store selling the finest Spanish hams, rotisseries, an italian gourmet deli, several wonderful bakeries. In addition, the area has beautiful designer boutiques. The general vibe is very hipster and young. We enjoyed our trip. If you are travelling with a family, Paris Deluxe Rentals is you best bet for comfort and savings. Very professional apartment rental service, and loveley people.

  10. We stayed in this apartment last July and it is located very conveniently in a small, quiet building with easy access to all Paris has to offer, by foot and public transit. We stayed with our grown son for a week and were very pleased. Contact with Tamara was always easy and response immediately by email. From the moment we arrived til we left at the end of the week, we felt well cared for. Sophie was on hand to meet us, even though we were delayed in our arrival, and explained all we needed to know about the apt and neighborhood, and Tamara checked us out quickly and with graciousness. Tamara recommended a private taxi – Robert – to us and we were in good hands from arrival at CDG to departure from Gare-de-Lyon. Robert drove us to the train and personally accompanied us inside, printed out our train tickets, and clearly explained how to locate our track for the TGV (the last time we did this on our own, years ago, it was quite confusing). This avoided any stress on our part and was much appreciated! The apartment itself has period details, but has been thoughtfully updated. Good layout, two very good bathrooms, a very functional kitchen with all the basic dishware, utensils, dishwasher, and w/d suited our needs. Everything very clean and well-maintained. We didn’t cook, as many good restaurants were within an easy walk, but was nice to have a full grocery a few minutes away, Franprix, where they had all necessities, even lactose free milk. Also good to have a cafe right across the street, where we were welcomed as soon as we arrived (stays open late in the eve, but is reasonably quiet), and the bakery, ATM, and Post Office are steps away. Fresh croissants every morning at our table overlooking the street below. Air conditioning worked well and was very quiet. Because of the great convenience of the location, we were easily able to reach all the destinations we had hoped to see – and more. We always felt safe, courtyard entry is by security code, and the neighborhood is pedestrian/tourist – friendly. We were sad to leave, hope we can return again.
